Our news

If you're wondering what's happening with Lumyeye or what we're cooking up behind the scenes, you've come to the right place. This page is like our bulletin board—we share new features, small improvements we've added to the app, and projects that are slowly brewing.

We try to stay close to the people who use the app every day, so as soon as we launch an update or an idea becomes reality, we come and talk about it here. Sometimes it's new features, sometimes just small adjustments that make the experience smoother and more enjoyable. It's not always spectacular, but it's often useful.

We also talk about what's happening around us: user feedback that makes us rethink certain priorities, associations we collaborate with, or even trade shows where we'll be presenting Lumyeye to accessibility professionals. Nothing is set in stone; everything is evolving.

And then there are the stories—those of people who use the app to read a blurry letter, check a label at the supermarket, or find the contents of a restaurant menu. These are the small, very concrete moments that remind us why we do what we do. We try to share them too.

In short, this page isn't just a news feed. It's a living space, a reflection of Lumyeye's evolution and our desire to move things forward, on our scale, so that reading and autonomy are a little more accessible, every day.

Addition of Turkish Language

#IOS #ANDROID

Following an email from our Turkish friends in Germany, we decided to translate the app into Turkish. It’s now available, and Lumyeye can speak to you in this language—your turn to try it out!

Wide-Angle Support Added

#ANDROID

On Android, the wide-angle option wasn’t enabled at first. The documentation actually prevented us from activating it across all phones—we would have had to manually list every single device and OS version on the market!

Our developers found a clever workaround, and with the latest Android release, wide-angle is now enabled on 98% of phones! The result: more information captured in each photo, and no need to worry about framing—just take the shot, and Lumyeye will handle the rest.

Improved Photo & Search Process

#IOS #ANDROID

Taking a photo or launching a search now happens automatically based on the words spoken. Before, there were two long phrases: “I will take a photo in 2s” and “I will do a search in 2s” plus a two-second delay—much too long.

We changed this so now only a single word is needed: Photo or Search, with the delay shortened to just 1s.

The result? 40% faster response time!

Barcode Detection

#IOS #ANDROID

Many of you have asked us to decode barcodes.

We explored barcode databases and ran countless tests, but each time we faced issues with “hallucinations” (when the AI makes something up!).

In reality, all you need to do is take a photo of the product itself (not just the barcode), and Lumyeye will describe it for you!

An article on the website "https://jusquauretrait.fr": a voice app that gives seniors back their independence

#IOS #ANDROID

As the years go by, some everyday tasks can become more difficult: reading official mail, getting information, recognizing an object, or simply asking a question. Vision problems, fatigue, and hesitation with digital tools—all of these can make access to information harder. That’s where LumyEYE comes in, a mobile app designed to turn a smartphone into an intelligent voice assistant. Everything is done by voice, with no buttons at all. A true revolution for seniors who want to maintain their independence.
