Tech expert and passionate about artificial intelligence, Alban Clochet founded Lumyeye in October 2025 after witnessing firsthand the progressive isolation caused by visual impairment among elderly people.
It all started with shared moments with Arlette, 91 years old, who became blind. Seeing an elderly person take shrimp out of the freezer thinking they are carrots. Seeing the anxiety of losing an object on the floor without being able to find it. These everyday scenes were the trigger.
“There was no visual aid simple enough for elderly blind and visually impaired people. So I created Lumyeye, the voice app that changes everything.”
After testing all existing devices – connected glasses costing several thousand euros, complex reading machines, apps not adapted for seniors – the verdict was clear: no solution combined simplicity, accessibility and affordability.
Drawing on his tech expertise, Alban designed Lumyeye as an intelligent visual assistance app that transforms any smartphone into an AI assistant for blind and visually impaired people. Cutting-edge technology that fades away to leave only voice, exchange and regained autonomy.
Today, Lumyeye helps users in more than 11 languages identify products, read documents, recognize banknotes and navigate their daily lives – all for the price of one lunch per month.
