Send an email by voice

Dictate recipient, subject, body — Lumyeye Pro reads back the entire email and sends it after your voice confirmation. Send only (read incoming coming soon). Useful to email yourself a recipe, a web search result or an article summary.

Sample transcript and context

Sending an email by voice with Lumyeye Pro. You tap or double-tap anywhere on the screen to activate listening. "Send an email to Mary." Lumyeye Pro picks up the email address saved in contacts. "Subject? Confirming Tuesday meeting. Message? Hi Mary, I'm confirming our meeting Tuesday at 3 PM, see you soon." Lumyeye Pro reads back the entire email (recipient, subject, body) then asks "Do you want to send?" Voice confirmation: yes. Email sent.

Key use case — keep a written record: you can also email yourself (the result of a web search, a recipe, a photo, the summary of an article you had read), to keep a listen-back-later record or forward it to a loved one.

Lumyeye Pro sends only the emails dictated by voice: the app does not read the inbox (coming soon), does not handle incoming attachments, does not process anti-spam filters. Lumyeye Pro is fully VoiceOver-compatible for those who want to read incoming mail with VoiceOver in Mail.

Pro feature because voice send requires mail integration coupled with AI for natural dictation. Lumyeye Classic does not allow voice email sending. iPhone 16+, $16.99/month.

Frequently asked questions

Send an email by voice — your questions.

Can I send an email to any address?

Yes. You dictate the recipient's address then your message. Lumyeye Pro sends the email from the address you configured in Settings. Lumyeye Pro only allows voice email sending; reading incoming emails is not handled by the app today (coming soon).

Can I send an email to myself to keep a record?

Yes, that's even one of the key use cases. You can email yourself the result of the latest web search, a recipe, a photo, the summary of an article you had read, etc. The email lands in your inbox: you find it later on a computer, or a loved one can read it for you.

How do I activate listening to dictate an email?

In Lumyeye Pro, tap or double-tap anywhere on the screen to trigger listening. No wake phrase to memorize, no button to aim at. At the end of the response, the phone goes back to sleep automatically. A single or double tap also interrupts a response in progress.

Does Lumyeye Pro read my inbox?

Not yet. The app sends only. Reading incoming emails (inbox triage, attachments) is on the roadmap. For now, use Mail with VoiceOver to read incoming mail; Lumyeye Pro is fully VoiceOver-compatible.

Do I need to create an account to test Lumyeye Pro?

No. Unlike Lumyeye Classic, Lumyeye Pro can be tested without creating an account. A voice onboarding at first launch introduces the features. Email is only requested at first payment, after the 40 free queries.

Testimonial

Olivier, 52, Toulouse.

"My father, 80, has AMD. He had stopped emailing the family. With Lumyeye Pro, he sent six emails to his grandchildren in one morning. He dictates, he listens to the readback, he confirms send. The whole family reconnected by email. The hidden gold: he emails himself articles he listened to during the day and re-reads them on the iPad in the evening."

Practical tips

Master voice email with Lumyeye Pro.

  1. Email yourself to keep a record. After a web search, a recipe or an article summary, ask Lumyeye Pro to email it to yourself. You'll find it on your computer later.
  2. Save recipients in contacts. Save your frequent contacts with first + last name. Lumyeye Pro picks up the email address from contacts.
  3. Listen to the readback carefully. Before confirming send, Lumyeye Pro reads back the entire email. Check the recipient and the message; cancel if needed.
  4. Send to multiple recipients. Dictate several names; Lumyeye Pro asks you to confirm each one if there's ambiguity.
  5. Use Mail + VoiceOver to read your inbox. Reading incoming emails is not a Lumyeye Pro feature today. Use Mail with VoiceOver.
