Lumyeye Pro Accessibility
Lumyeye Pro is an application specifically designed for blind and visually impaired people. Accessibility is not an afterthought: it is at the heart of every screen, every interaction and every feature.
VoiceOver
Lumyeye Pro is fully compatible with VoiceOver, Apple’s built-in screen reader for iOS.
- All screens, buttons and interactive elements have dedicated accessibility labels and hints
- VoiceOver announcements guide the user through every app state: listening, thinking, responding, idle
- When VoiceOver is active, Google TTS is automatically disabled to avoid audio conflicts
- Double-tap to activate, Z gesture (Escape) to return to idle
Voice Control
The entire application is controlled by voice — no screen interaction is required.
- Users speak naturally: “take a photo”, “read my emails”, “play music”, “where am I”
- A voice menu is accessible by saying “menu” or “open menu”
- Speech recognition supports French and English
Dark Interface
Lumyeye Pro uses a dark theme by default to reduce eye strain.
- High contrast text on dark backgrounds
- Designed for users with light sensitivity (photophobia)
Sufficient Contrast
All text and icons meet WCAG AA contrast standards.
- Colour-coded states (red for thinking, blue for responding) are also communicated via audio and text
- Information is never conveyed by colour alone
Reduced Animations
Lumyeye Pro uses minimal animations.
- No distracting visual effects
- The focus is on audio feedback rather than visual transitions
Audio Descriptions
Lumyeye Pro is an audio description tool — it describes the visual environment to the user.
- Camera analysis provides spoken descriptions of objects, text, documents and surroundings
- All responses are read aloud via Google Text-to-Speech or VoiceOver
Additional Accessibility Features
- Haptic feedback on state changes (listening start, return to idle)
- Guided onboarding at first launch with TTS explanations before each permission request
- Language support: French, English, Arabic
- Users can change the app language from the voice menu
- Compatible with Braille displays via VoiceOver
