Is Lumyeye Pro suitable for blind users?
Yes, fully. Lumyeye Pro is voice-driven after a simple double-tap. The natural warm voice is clear and crisp, and VoiceOver-compatible — you keep your habits, no relearning.
Does the app listen all the time?
No, never. The mic stays off until you trigger listening with a double-tap on screen. No always-on, no wake word that could fire on its own. You decide when the app listens, every single time.
Can Lumyeye Pro read my emails?
For now, Lumyeye Pro can send mail by voice: you dictate, the app sends it from your address, without opening Mail. Reading received mail is coming in a future update. For paper mail, OCR is instant.

Lumyeye Pro adds the Live Vision streaming mode (Gemini), Ray-Ban Meta 2nd gen compatibility (coming soon), phone calls, send mail by voice, launching Spotify and Google Maps by voice, a natural warm voice, and a pipeline 2× faster with instant photo. PRO is iOS 16+ only.
Is Lumyeye Pro really faster than Classic?
Yes, on average 2× faster. Lumyeye Pro uses a real-time pipeline optimized for iOS 16+, with Gemini AI preloading and accelerated local processing. The word "photo" triggers instant capture — no extra step. Lumyeye Classic stays very responsive (1-2 seconds on average) but Pro closes that gap on iOS 16+.
How does Lumyeye take a photo?
You tap twice (double-tap) and say "photo" or "take a photo". On Lumyeye Pro, capture is instant. On Lumyeye Classic, the app goes through the iOS native camera. Either way, you can then ask a question about the photo: "What is it?", "Read me the text", "What color?".
How much does the free trial cost?
Nothing. No credit card required. Lumyeye Classic: 30 free queries. Lumyeye Pro: 40 free queries, use them whenever. No account to create on open — your email is only requested at first payment.
Is my data sold?
No, never. No reselling, no ads. European hosting, strict GDPR. Your queries stay confidential.
What does Lumyeye keep in memory?
On the phone, only the last 20 actions are kept in memory — so the AI can keep the conversation thread. The 21st action auto-pushes out the oldest.
When you fully close the app (swipe up + close), everything is wiped from the phone. On next launch, you start from zero.
On Lumyeye's side, nothing is kept: no history server, no user profile, no browsable log. We have nothing to lose because we have nothing to keep.
Can I get insurance reimbursement?
In the US, check with your private insurance, your state's Vocational Rehabilitation agency, or your commission for the blind for assistive technology coverage. In France, Lumyeye Pro is eligible for PCH and AEEH via the MDPH. See the pricing page for details.
Does Lumyeye work offline?
Partially. Fast OCR and simple object ID work locally. Live Vision and conversational answers require an internet connection.
What smart glasses does Pro work with?
With Ray-Ban Meta 2nd generation (2024+ models). Compatibility coming soon. More glasses will be supported progressively, prioritizing those with a front camera and a speaker.
How do I cancel?
In one step, from the App Store. No questions asked. No retention attempts. You keep access until the end of the paid period.
Will Lumyeye Pro be available on Android?
Yes, the Android version is in development. Date not announced yet. Get notified by writing to contact@lumyeye.com with the subject "Pro Android pre-launch".
Do I need a recent iPhone for Lumyeye Pro?
Lumyeye Pro requires iOS 16 or newer (iPhone X and later). Lumyeye Classic works from iOS 14 and Android 10+, so compatible with almost every phone still in circulation.
Does Lumyeye work with braille?
Lumyeye is a 100% voice app: everything is read aloud. If you use a braille display as output via VoiceOver, Lumyeye stays compatible. No braille input — you speak.
Does the AI make mistakes?
Yes, like any AI. Lumyeye leverages Google's Gemini for vision and OCR — among the best available — but no model is 100% infallible. For critical decisions (medication, ID), human verification is still recommended.
Can I use it for my visually impaired child?
Yes, Lumyeye is designed from reading age (~6-7 years for simple questions). In France, it's eligible for AEEH for blind or visually impaired children via the MDPH.
Is there a version for caregivers?
No dedicated version — Lumyeye is built to make the user independent, so the app lives on their own iPhone. But caregivers can install Lumyeye on their phone to discover how it works before introducing it to their loved one.
How many languages are supported?
Three main languages for voice interaction: English, French, Arabic. OCR reading works for 60+ languages. More spoken languages will be added progressively.
Does Lumyeye replace VoiceOver?
No, Lumyeye complements VoiceOver. You can use Lumyeye without VoiceOver — that's the main idea (natural warm voice, double-tap to speak). But if you use VoiceOver, the two coexist without issue.
Is there a money-back guarantee?
You have 30 free queries on Classic (no credit card) and 40 free queries on Pro to evaluate. After the first payment, you can cancel anytime from the App Store / Play Store — you keep access until the end of the paid period.
How do you activate Lumyeye Pro? Do you have to find a button?
No, you don't have to aim anywhere. A simple tap or double-tap anywhere on screen triggers listening. You ask, Lumyeye answers, then the app auto-sleeps at end of answer. To interrupt an ongoing answer, a single or double tap is enough. The entire screen is the active zone.
Do I need an account to try Lumyeye Pro?
No. You download Lumyeye Pro and it's immediately usable, no signup, no password, no Sign in. Your email is only asked at the first payment, after the 40 free queries. By contrast, Lumyeye Classic offers an optional 1-click Apple or Google Sign-in on open.
Can I email myself with Lumyeye Pro?
Yes. Lumyeye Pro sends mail by voice to any recipient, including yourself. This is the "keep a note" use case: a web search result, a recipe, a photo from earlier, an article read aloud, an object description — you ask Lumyeye to email the content to your address to find later.
Is Lumyeye Pro well integrated with VoiceOver?
Yes, it's a priority. Months of work went into making Lumyeye Pro perfectly fluid with VoiceOver. That said, most interactions go through a natural warm voice (not the mechanical VoiceOver voice), for a more natural experience. The two coexist seamlessly: you can use Lumyeye without VoiceOver, with VoiceOver, or alternate.
How does the onboarding work on first launch?
Lumyeye Pro has a fully voice onboarding on first launch. A voice greets you, presents the app, explains the gestures (tap or double-tap to speak), and walks you through the main features. You have nothing to read on screen, nothing to tap in a specific order. By the end of the onboarding, you already know how to drive Lumyeye.
