The morning briefing is an automatic voice summary of the start of day. Once a day, when the user opens Lumyeye Pro in the morning (or explicitly asks «morning briefing»), the app chains several useful pieces of information without having to switch screens.

Briefing content: iPhone battery level (read via the native iOS API), first appointments of the day if calendar authorization has been granted (iOS calendar reading via EventKit), number of tracked objects in memory (objects / photos feature), and a short weather sentence generated by Google Gemini AI from the GPS position.

The weather sentence is generated by Gemini AI from the GPS context.

For example, open Lumyeye Pro in the morning. The app announces: «Your battery is at 84%, you have a doctor appointment at 2 PM, it should be mild this morning in Portland (around 61 degrees Fahrenheit, mixed sky), 12 objects have been tracked in memory.» The briefing gives the key details in about 30 seconds, without navigating a menu. Going further: voice weather can be requested anytime, and tracked objects are managed via the encrypted local memo. When is the morning briefing triggered?

On the first daily app launch in the morning, or when you explicitly ask («morning briefing»). It is NOT an automatic push notification: you must open Lumyeye Pro.

What exactly is in the briefing?

Four items: iPhone battery level, first appointments of the day (if calendar authorization granted), number of tracked objects in memory, and a weather sentence generated by Gemini AI from the GPS position.

Is the briefing weather reliable?

It is a spoken answer generated by Gemini AI, not an official weather API (NWS, Meteo-France, WeatherKit). Approximative for daily life (getting dressed, taking an umbrella). For sensitive decisions (mountain trip, fragile person going out), confirm with an official weather app.

Does Lumyeye Pro access my calendar continuously?

iOS calendar authorization is requested on first use. Without it, the briefing skips the calendar part. Reading is limited to the first events of the day, not a full walk-through of your calendar.

Is the briefing content stored at Lumyeye?

No. The briefing is composed on the fly at each morning trigger, from local data (battery, iOS calendar, tracked objects) and a one-shot Gemini call for the weather. No storage of content on Lumyeye servers.

Practical tips

Best use of the morning briefing.

  1. Authorize iOS Calendar access. Without it, the briefing skips the calendar part. iOS Settings > Privacy > Calendars > Lumyeye Pro.
  2. Open Lumyeye Pro upon waking. The briefing triggers on the first daily launch. If you left it open last night, it may not re-trigger: close and reopen.
  3. Ask explicitly if needed. You can also say «morning briefing» any time of day to re-run the summary.
  4. Confirm weather for sensitive outings. The briefing weather comes from Gemini AI. For a hike, sea outing or trip, confirm with NWS or Apple Weather.
  5. Tag objects in memory beforehand. The more objects you save in memory (keys, medication, glasses), the more useful the «tracked objects» part of the briefing becomes.
