Add a calendar event by voice

Say "add an appointment with the doctor Thursday 15 at 10" and Lumyeye Pro tries to add the event to your iPhone calendar. Not yet a general voice command for consulting, moving or deleting events — only event creation is implemented for now.

How do I add a calendar event in iPhone Calendar by voice?

· Rated 4.5/5 by 918 users on the App Store

Available voice commands: "set an appointment…" · "add an appointment…" · "calendar dentist tomorrow 3 PM". If a piece of information is missing, Lumyeye Pro may ask for the day, time or subject before scheduling the appointment.

The most reliable phrasings include the title, the day and the time in the same sentence: "Set a doctor appointment on May 21st at 2:30 PM", "Calendar dentist tomorrow 3 PM", "Set an appointment at 6 PM". Current reminders are scheduled 30 minutes before and at the time of the appointment by default, or with the number of minutes indicated when the sentence contains for example "reminder 20 minutes before".

Synchronization depends on iOS: if your default calendar is already synced with iCloud, Google Calendar or Outlook, the event added by Lumyeye Pro follows that native sync. Lumyeye Pro does not create a separate Google Calendar or Outlook connection for this feature.

Lumyeye Pro does not store the content of your calendar events on its servers. Technical usage counters may be recorded for quota and app monitoring, but the title, date and time of the appointment stay in the iOS calendar. Available exclusively on iOS 17.6+, from $16.99/month.

Frequently asked questions

Adding, reminders, synchronization — your questions.

Can I consult, move or delete an appointment by voice?

Not yet as a general voice command. The current code mainly covers adding appointments. The morning briefing can read the first events of the day if calendar access is already granted.

Are "the day before at 6 PM" reminders available?

Not yet. Today, Lumyeye Pro mainly handles a reminder in minutes before the appointment, plus an alert at the time of the appointment. By default: 30 minutes before and at the event time. To customize, say for example "reminder 20 minutes before".

Is it synchronized with iCloud, Google Calendar or Outlook?

Yes, if this account is already configured in Settings > Calendar > Accounts and used as the modifiable default iPhone calendar. Lumyeye Pro does not create a separate Google Calendar or Outlook connection: everything goes through native iOS sync.

What happens if I haven't granted calendar access?

Lumyeye Pro needs calendar permission and a modifiable default calendar to create an event. Without these conditions, the add cannot succeed. Permission is managed in iOS Settings > Privacy > Calendars.

Is the event content stored on Lumyeye servers?

No. The title, date and time of the appointment stay in the iOS calendar. Technical usage counters may be recorded for quota and app monitoring, but not the content of the events.

Testimonial

Jean-Pierre, 71, Strasbourg.

"Six medical appointments a month without being able to read a paper calendar had become unbearable. My wife kept track of everything, and I felt infantilized. With Lumyeye Pro, I book my own appointments on the phone and add them by voice right after. In the evening, my wife sees the new entries on her iPhone via iCloud. We've found a balance."

Practical tips

Master your calendar with Lumyeye Pro.

  1. Dictate date, time and title in the same sentence. A complete sentence works better than a sequence of answers: "add an appointment with the dentist Tuesday May 27 at 11 AM". Lumyeye Pro extracts all three at once.
  2. Add the appointment immediately after booking. As soon as you hang up with the doctor's office, dictate the appointment right away. You avoid forgetting and illegible paper notes.
  3. Ask for a reminder in minutes. Specify "reminder 20 minutes before" or "reminder 1 hour before". By default Lumyeye Pro schedules 30 minutes before and at the time of the appointment. Reminders like "the day before at 6 PM" are not yet supported.
  4. Listen to the morning briefing. If calendar access is granted, Lumyeye Pro can read the first events of the day during the morning briefing. Ad-hoc voice consultation ("what do I have Thursday") is not yet a general command.
  5. Sync with a loved caregiver. Enable iCloud Calendar on your iPhone and share the calendar with your spouse, a child, or a caregiver. They see your appointments from their own phone: useful when needed.
